HMP Lewes
Client: Kier Construction
Location: Lewes, East Sussex
HMP Lewes is a Victorian Prison built in 1853 now a high security all male prison. The prison has benefitted from major extension works over these last few years and we have been involved in all these works.
As a fully operational prison, all our men have had to successully pass stringent security vetting and adhere to strict operational codes of conduct whilst on site.
Extension works have included a new house block containing over 170 single cells, a multifaith building and biomass heating plant.
Works were extensive but included bulk site excavation, large retaining wall, foul and storm drainage works and concrete foundations.
